This time lapse is called the “trigger time,” and you can adjust it however you like. By default it is set to two minutes, so if you have an outage that last less than two minutes no alert message will be triggered. It should be noted that we do not recommend shortening your trigger time below two minutes in most cases, this will only result in a higher volume of alerts that are already resolved by the time you can respond to them. We would only recommend shortening the trigger time significantly on essential and reliable servers.

To change this time first click the “Configuration” drop-down and select “Alert Timelines.” Now select the Alert Timeline whose trigger time you would like to change. You should see something like this on your screen:

The blue bar represents your trigger time and it’s associated contacts. If you click on that bar a window will open up that will allow you to reconfigure your trigger time however you like. You can also add new notifications events that will notify more people based on how long the outage has lasted. To do this select “+ Create a New Event.”
